[Anchor] There has been much speculation about who was responsible for cutting roses at a famous rose spot in Suwon. It turns out the culprits' explanation is quite baffling. What happened?

[Reporter] Yes, there were initial rumors that it was a young couple, but a police investigation revealed they were a man and a woman in their 60s.

The police identified the two individuals in their 60s for allegedly cutting off more than 10 roses and branches without permission at a well-known rose landmark in Haenggung-dong, Suwon, and have notified them to appear for questioning.

It is reported that during the police investigation, the suspects claimed they were simply trying to prune the roses.

The owner of the property, who expressed deep regret by stating that the damage is so severe it is difficult to restore the roses to their original state, noted that they have suffered similar incidents multiple times in the past. This time, however, the owner has taken a firm stance, stating they will not show leniency.

As beautiful scenery is created through someone's long-term dedication and care, it seems that greater consideration and responsible civic awareness are needed.
