Following the South Korean national football team's failure to advance to the Round of 32 at the North and Central America World Cup, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Choi Hwi-young has signaled a major overhaul of the Korea Football Association (KFA).

Minister Choi stated on social media, "We will form a committee of experts to conduct a thorough investigation and will strictly hold those responsible for any incompetence or mismanagement uncovered."

President Lee Jae-myung also commented on his social media, pointing out that "if you appoint an incompetent person as a commander, the result is obvious," and described the situation as a "failure of organization and personnel management."
