As of today, June 29, the fifth day since the powerful earthquake struck Venezuela, the death toll has risen to 1,450. While the unofficial number of missing persons has reached 70,000, reports of dramatic rescues continue to emerge.

A young boy was also miraculously rescued from the same space; the two were father and son.
In another pile of rubble, a 60-year-old woman was pulled to safety after more than 10 hours of rescue operations.
Today marks the fifth day since the series of earthquakes hit Venezuela. Even though the 72-hour golden time for rescue has long passed, news of survivors being found continues to bring hope.

The death toll from the earthquakes in Venezuela has increased by 20 in the past day, reaching 1,450.
The number of missing persons, based on unofficial estimates, has reached approximately 70,000.
Jorge Rodriguez, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, announced the extent of the building damage, stating that 774 buildings have collapsed, 189 of which were completely destroyed.

The international community has launched comprehensive rescue support efforts.
Venezuelan authorities announced that 24 countries have dispatched approximately 2,700 rescue personnel along with over 500 tons of relief supplies.
One runway at Simon Bolivar International Airport, Venezuela's largest airport, which had been damaged by the earthquake, has reopened, allowing for full-scale support efforts to begin.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) estimated that the direct damage from this earthquake will reach approximately 6.7 billion dollars, which is equivalent to 6 percent of Venezuela's total GDP.
