Yoo Hae-ran, a three-time winner on the LPGA Tour, has positioned herself for a chance at her first career major title.

Yoo moved into sole possession of the lead during the third round of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.

Yoo carded a 4-under 68, featuring one eagle, three birdies, and one bogey, bringing her three-round total to 11-under 205. She sits at the top of the leaderboard, one stroke ahead of Brooke Henderson.

Entering the day tied for second, five strokes behind Yoon Ina, Yoo began cutting into the deficit early on.

Yoo started with a birdie on the first hole and picked up another stroke on the fifth, putting pressure on Yoon.

She then surged into the sole lead with an eagle on the par-5 seventh hole.

After setting up the opportunity with a bold iron shot, Yoo sank an eagle putt from approximately 10 meters out.

The putt, which curved significantly to the left after she accurately read the slope of the green, was the highlight of the day.

Yoo, who celebrated with a subtle fist pump, added another birdie on the ninth hole to shave five strokes off her score on the front nine alone.

Her momentum slowed slightly on the back nine.

She recorded her only bogey of the day on the 10th hole and parred the remaining eight holes to maintain her sole lead.

"My second shot on the seventh hole with a 5-iron traveled about 180 meters; it was a great shot," Yoo said after the round. "I felt like I gained momentum in the match after making that eagle putt."

She added, "I played well on the front nine, but the wind picked up on the back nine and I felt some fatigue, which led to a disappointing performance. I will stay calm in the final round and challenge for the win."

Yoo, who recorded one win each year from 2023 through last year, has yet to lift a trophy this season.

At the Kroger Queen City Championship held last month, she was tied for the lead during the final round but fell back in the closing stages, settling for a runner-up finish by two strokes.

Yoon Ina, who held a five-stroke lead over the rest of the field through the second round, struggled with a 3-over 75 on Saturday, dropping to third place with a three-round total of 9-under 207.

She struggled significantly early in the round, carding four bogeys and one birdie through the first six holes.

Kim A-lim is tied for fourth at 8-under 208, while rookie Lee Dong-eun is tied for eighth at 6-under 210.

Yang Hee-young is tied for 12th at 4-under 212; Kim Sei-young and Shin Ji-eun are tied for 19th at 3-under 213; Chun In-gee, Kim Hyo-joo, and Lee So-mi are tied for 32nd at 1-under 215; Park Sung-hyun and Ko Jin-young are tied for 41st at even-par 216; Kang Min-ji and Choi Hye-jin are tied for 49th at 1-over 217; and Jeon Ji-won is tied for 63rd at 4-over 220.

World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who is aiming for her third consecutive major title this season, is tied for sixth at 7-under 209 alongside Alison Lee.
