At approximately 8:40 p.m. yesterday (June 27), a man in his 50s was struck by an express bus while crossing a crosswalk against a red light at an intersection in Seoklim-dong, Seosan, South Chungcheong Province.
The man was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest but was later pronounced dead.
The express bus involved was traveling from Daejeon toward Taean. There were 10 people on board, including the driver, and no additional casualties were reported.
Police believe the victim, identified as Mr. A, was crossing the street against a red light after attending a drinking gathering. Authorities plan to conduct further investigations, including verifying the speed of the bus at the time of the accident.
