A fire broke out at a commercial-residential building in Hyoseong-dong, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, at approximately 1:10 a.m. today (June 28).
While there were no casualties, the fire caused thick black smoke to billow, prompting residents living in the building to evacuate.
Fire authorities deployed 26 pieces of equipment and about 80 personnel, fully extinguishing the blaze in about an hour.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Gyeyang-gu issued a safety alert via text message, stating, "A large amount of smoke is being generated due to the fire. Nearby residents are advised to be cautious of further damage."
Fire authorities suspect the fire started in the attic and are currently investigating the exact cause and the extent of the damage.
