A fire broke out at a pig farm in Samseong-myeon, Eumseong-gun, North Chungcheong Province, at approximately 6:10 p.m. today (June 27).

According to fire authorities, the blaze destroyed 10 out of the 53 pig barns at the facility. It is estimated that approximately 800 out of the 6,000 pigs at the farm perished in the fire.

Fire authorities deployed 20 pieces of equipment and about 60 personnel, successfully extinguishing the fire completely within one hour.

Fortunately, there were no human casualties reported.

Police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire.
