Jet skis cut through the refreshing water, and people enjoy the cool sea while tossing a ball back and forth.
They also take photos against the backdrop of the ocean to create lasting memories.
Haeundae Beach, which welcomed its first weekend since opening for the season, was packed with summer visitors.
[Kim Seong-mi / Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do: We come here every year, and since we heard it opened for the season, we came to visit for the weekend.]
[Kim Chae-yul / Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do: It is really great playing here at the beach.]
Citizens also flocked to the shade of forests in the city to escape the heat.
Under the lush bamboo forest, they enjoyed the cool breeze and spent a relaxing Saturday afternoon admiring the mist rising from the moss and the colorful flowers.
Walking barefoot along the red clay path and feeling the texture of the forest helps the heat fade away quickly.
[Jeong Seon-i, Park Seo-jin, Park Young-heum / Dongjak-gu, Seoul: (We were worried because of the heat, but it was cool and nice inside the forest.) The feeling of the (red clay) on our feet is slightly slippery, which is nice.]
Indoor sports facilities are popular among children in this heat.
They lose track of time as they navigate obstacles at a height of 11 meters and climb various types of artificial rock walls.
[Song Gwan-ui, Song Hyo-beom / Nowon-gu, Seoul: It feels very cool here. So, even when climbing the rock wall like this, it didn't feel that difficult.]
Today's daytime high temperatures exceeded 30°C (86°F) in many parts of the country, with Seoul reaching 32.3°C (90°F) and Gwangju hitting 33.6°C (92°F).
