The KOSPI has plunged by nearly 6%, falling into the 8,400 range.

The KOSPI closed at 8,411.21 today (June 26), down 519.09 points, or 5.81%, from the previous trading day.

The index opened at 8,813.18, down 117.12 points, or 1.31%, from yesterday.

It subsequently expanded its losses, at one point sliding as low as 8,126.84.

As a result, a sell-side sidecar, which temporarily halts the execution of program sell orders, was triggered at approximately 11:12 a.m.

This was followed by a circuit breaker, which temporarily suspends all stock trading, at around 12:10 p.m.

The KOSDAQ index closed at 851.37, down 36.44 points, or 4.10%, from the previous day.
