President Lee to Preside Over Strategy Meeting on Fostering New Security Innovation Companies at the Blue House Today

President Lee Jae-myung will hold a 'Strategy Meeting on Fostering Future New Security Innovation Companies' at the Blue House today (June 26) to discuss the direction of the defense industry's development.

This meeting was organized to introduce support measures for companies in security-related sectors, such as defense and aerospace, and to listen to the voices of business leaders in the field.

The event will be attended by heads of research institutes, experts, and officials from security-related fields, including the Korea National Defense University, the Agency for Defense Development, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, the National Security Research Institute, the Korea Startup Forum, and managers of defense industry funds.

From the government, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy Koo Yoon-cheol, Minister of National Defense Ahn Gyu-back, Director of the National Intelligence Service Lee Jong-seok, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission Lee Eog-weon, and Minister of Planning and Budget Park Hong-keun are scheduled to attend.

In addition, Blue House staff including Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik, National Security Office Director Wi Sung-lac, and Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom will also be present at the meeting.

During the session, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will present the 'Plan for Fostering Future New Security Innovation Companies,' the Ministry of National Defense will present the 'Defense Sector Implementation Plan for Fostering Future New Security Innovation Companies,' and the Korea Aerospace Administration will present 'Measures to Enhance New Security Through New Aerospace Industries.'

Following this, discussions will be held in three sessions covering the aspects of modern warfare and technological innovation in the future new security sector, the government's role in fostering future new security innovation companies, and plans for nurturing talent in the future new security field.
