Actress Chae Jung-an has made her long-awaited return to the silver screen after 10 years with the film 'SOAR'.

'SOAR' tells the story of Hyeon-jae (played by Hwang Bo-un), a young girl desperate to escape her father's domestic violence. She draws Hae-in, who has been searching for her missing daughter for 10 years, into her plans in a desperate bid to change her life. Chae Jung-an plays Hae-in, a woman who runs a flower shop while holding onto the hope of finding her lost daughter, Yoon-seul.

In 'SOAR', Chae Jung-an showcases a completely different side of herself, straying from her usual sophisticated and bright image. Hae-in is a character trapped in the grief of losing her daughter, yet she continues to push through each day. Rather than outwardly dramatizing her inner pain, Chae subtly portrays Hae-in's deep sorrow, helplessness, and her quiet determination not to fall apart.

She also naturally unravels her character's complex psychology in her relationship with Hyeon-jae. Chae Jung-an brings depth and credibility to the role by beautifully balancing Hae-in's dual emotions—her desire to protect Hyeon-jae alongside her lingering grief and unresolved wounds for her own daughter—through delicate gazes and nuanced expressions.

With a makeup-free face, a calm voice, and restrained movements, Chae Jung-an perfectly captures Hae-in's daily struggle to endure. Her performance has garnered praise for stably portraying a character caught between loss and recovery.

Chae Jung-an's fellow actors also stepped up to support her acting transformation. At the recent VIP premiere of 'SOAR', the stars of the hit 2007 K-drama 'Coffee Prince'—including Gong Yoo, Yoon Eun-hye, Kim Dong-wook, and Kim Jae-wook—rushed to the scene to show their support. Their tight-knit friendship, which has lasted for 19 years both on and off-screen, warmed the hearts of fans.

'SOAR' was released on June 17 and is currently playing in theaters.
