President Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung attended the 76th anniversary ceremony of the Korean War held in Gyeonggi-do today (the 25th) to honor the veterans who sacrificed and dedicated themselves to the nation and its people.

The ceremony, held under the theme "The Republic of Korea Protected by Heroes, Shining in the World," was attended by approximately 1,000 people, including Korean War veterans, key government and military officials, and members of the diplomatic corps in Korea, who gathered to remember the national heroes who defended the Republic of Korea and reflect on the importance of peace.

The ceremony began with the sound of a bugle call by the Ministry of National Defense military band, followed by the entrance of the flags of the 22 UN member nations that supported the Republic of Korea during the Korean War, the presentation of military service medals, a commemorative address by President Lee, and special performances.

In his address, President Lee expressed his gratitude and condolences for the dedication of the veterans. He reiterated his commitment to steadfastly protecting the Republic of Korea, which the heroes of the Korean War defended with their lives and youth, and emphasized his determination to build a peaceful Korean Peninsula free from the fear of war.
