Deserts are typically perceived as parched and arid environments.

However, an unusual flood has struck an area near a desert in China.

A bridge is seen being swept away effortlessly by the powerful currents.

Muddy water roars as it surges through, leaving everything in complete disarray.

In the Hotan region of Xinjiang, located near China's Taklamakan Desert, a year's worth of average rainfall poured down in just one day.

The region typically sees very little annual precipitation, and the sudden concentration of heavy rain led to a series of damages, including flooded roads.

Recently, the Taklamakan Desert area has been experiencing higher-than-average temperatures, causing snow and ice in the Tian Shan and Kunlun mountain ranges to melt. This has led to rivers overflowing and even the emergence of new waterways across the desert landscape.
