Song Sung-mun of the San Diego Padres appeared as a pinch runner, while Kim Ha-seong of the Atlanta Braves did not play, preventing a "Korean derby" between the two players.

Song, who started the game on the bench, entered the Major League Baseball (MLB) home game against Atlanta at Petco Park in San Diego, California, on June 23 (KST) as a pinch runner for Will Wagner, who had drawn a walk with two outs in the bottom of the 6th inning with the Padres leading 1-0.

Song immediately stole second base to create a scoring opportunity, but he did not advance further as the subsequent batter failed to deliver a hit.

This marks Song's 5th stolen base of the season.

He has attempted seven stolen bases this season and has been caught twice.

Song took over at second base starting in the top of the 7th inning, but he was replaced by a pinch hitter with two outs and runners on first and second in the 8th, meaning he did not get an at-bat.

Song's season batting average remains at .200 (10 hits in 50 at-bats).

San Diego won the game 1-0.
