Some of K-pop's most iconic boy groups, including Super Junior and NCT, are heading to Egypt for a new travel survival reality show.
Directed by Lee Tae-kyung, the mastermind behind hit shows like 'Amazing Saturday' and 'HMLYCP', the new travel survival program 'The Prince and the Pauper' is set to premiere on ENA on July 27 at 11:15 PM.
'The Prince and the Pauper' is a 6-night, 7-day winner-takes-all travel variety show set against the backdrop of the historic and mysterious land of Egypt. The cast features six idols: LeeTeuk and ShinDong (Super Junior), DAWN, Kim Yo-han (WEi), and JOHNNY and JISUNG (NCT), all competing for the title of 'Prince'.
As they travel through Cairo, Luxor, and Hurghada, the cast members will be divided into 'Princes' and 'Paupers' based on the results of each mission, engaging in a survival game where the winners take it all.
The production team described 'The Prince and the Pauper' as "a program that strikes a balance between the cast and the travel destinations. We prioritized this balance because sometimes, when the format is too novel, the personalities of the cast can get lost. Since the 'Prince' and 'Pauper' for the day are determined through games, and each must experience travel conditions suited to their status, the show offers a fun dynamic similar to a 'class fable.' We also localized the games to fit the unique characteristics of the locations, so viewers will get a complex, intriguing feeling of 'Korean-style games, but with an Egyptian twist.'"
'The Prince and the Pauper' will premiere on ENA on July 27 at 11:15 PM. It will also be available to K-pop fans worldwide via the global OTT platform Disney+.
