A controversy has erupted after some internet users left mocking comments regarding a photo showing a piece of cake placed directly on top of rice at a free meal service for the homeless and vulnerable youth.

Recently, photos of Father Vincenzo Bordo, who operates the free soup kitchen "Anna's House" in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, serving meals have been circulating online.

The released photos show a meal tray containing rice, soup, and side dishes, with a slice of cake placed right on top of the rice.

Some internet users left mocking comments, questioning why the cake was placed on top of the rice.

In response, other users have pushed back, arguing that "it seems they had no choice but to place it on the rice because it was difficult to provide separate plates" and that "it is frustrating to see people leaving malicious comments without knowing the context," leading to a heated debate online.
