
Actor Don Lee is returning with "The Roundup" series, his ultimate "10-million admissions" cheat key.
On May 27, production company Big Punch Pictures announced, "The Roundup 5 has finalized its main cast, including Don Lee and Kim Jae-young, and officially began filming on May 24."
'The Roundup 5' depicts a crime-busting operation where monster detective Ma Seok-do faces off against Lee Kang-tae, who initiates the worst crime after an eight-year wait. It is the fifth installment of 'The Roundup' franchise, which has achieved the historic "10-million ticket" milestone three times from parts 2 to 4. The franchise is widely dubbed a "10-million cheat key" as it easily surpasses 10 million admissions with every release.
Don Lee, the driving force behind the box office success, returns as the irreplaceable monster detective Ma Seok-do. Having also participated in the screenplay and production, he once again leads the entire project. Now promoted to the leader of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit, Ma Seok-do continues to operate on the front lines with his unwavering determination to lock up the bad guys.

Actor Kim Jae-young has been cast as the fifth-generation villain, Lee Kang-tae. Known for his intense and immersive performances in projects like 'I DOL I' and 'The Judge from Hell', Kim will portray Lee Kang-tae, a ruthless criminal committing the worst offenses. Audiences can expect to see a brand-new side of Kim Jae-young through this character, who stops at nothing to achieve his goals.
The newly joined cast members alongside Kim Jae-young also promise fresh changes. Seo Hyun-woo, a trusted actor who seamlessly transitions across genres, takes on the role of Detective Go Young-min from Team 1 of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit. He is set to lead the team alongside Ma Seok-do as a reliable pillar. Actor Lee Hak-joo, who has built a solid filmography with his wide acting spectrum, will play Han Sang-gu, an accomplice who aids Lee Kang-tae's crimes, adding suspense to the plot.
In addition, multi-talented actor Baek Hyun-jin, who continues to cross boundaries in acting, music, variety shows, and art, joins the cast as Kim Min-chul, the chief of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit. Kim Min-ho, who showcased brilliant comedic acting in the drama series 'New Recruit' and the film '6/45', joins as 'Bul-dak' (Hot Chicken).
The film is directed by Heo Myeong-haeng, who was in charge of the franchise's martial arts and directed the fourth installment.
'The Roundup 5' began filming on May 24 and has officially entered production.
