BTS Puts Busan Hotel Price Gouging on Blast After Historic AMA Win: "Let's Be Reasonable"

During a live broadcast following their Artist of the Year win at the American Music Awards (AMAs) in the U.S., BTS expressed their gratitude to fans while also delivering a sharp warning regarding the skyrocketing hotel prices in Busan ahead of their upcoming concert in June.

On May 25 (local time), BTS held a live stream on a fan communication platform after winning three awards, including the night's biggest honor, "Artist of the Year," at the 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs) held in Las Vegas.

Reflecting on winning the AMA Grand Prize for the first time in five years, the members shared their gratitude, saying, "This award is incredibly meaningful because our fans made it happen. It's an award we won together, to the point where our fans' names should be written on it."

The members also shared some behind-the-scenes stories from the ceremony. J-HOPE revealed, "To share a little behind-the-scenes secret, we were all flustered during the presentation because we couldn't see what we were supposed to read." RM laughed and added, "It was so dark that I couldn't see the teleprompter at all."

However, during the broadcast, the BTS members showed that they were more concerned about their fans than celebrating their big win.

RM delivered a serious message regarding their upcoming Busan concert in June, saying, "There is something I really wanted to take this opportunity to say." Addressing the ongoing controversy over skyrocketing accommodation prices in Busan during the concert period, he cautiously began, "There has been a lot of talk about accommodation prices, and I really hope people don't do that."

RM continued, "We have to look at the bigger picture. Busan has become so hip lately, rising like the Miami of Korea, and we even have two members from Busan here." He added, "I want our fans to visit Busan and leave with only good memories. While there are things we can't resolve even if we want to, and we understand the difference between peak and off-peak seasons, let's keep it reasonable. Let's not do this to each other as fellow Koreans."

Lightening the mood, V joked, "Hyung, you should just open a hotel," while JIN teased RM, saying, "There's a rumor that you bought 1 trillion won worth of Pokemon cards," drawing laughter from everyone.

Meanwhile, BTS once again proved their global dominance at this year's AMAs, taking home three awards: "Artist of the Year," "Song of the Summer," and "Best Male K-Pop Artist."
