Entertainer Lee Kyung-kyu (65), who was recently swept up in rumors regarding his health due to slurred speech and slow reactions in a YouTube video, dispelled all concerns by showcasing stable hosting skills during a live broadcast on the 12th.

Lee served as the main MC for the KBS1 special program '2026 FIFA World Cup D-30: For the Victory!', which aired live on the afternoon of the 12th. He was joined by announcers Um Ji-in and Nam Hyun-jong.

Given the recent speculation about his health, all eyes were on him, but Lee led the live broadcast without a hitch, displaying his signature high energy and professional hosting. Known as a massive soccer enthusiast, he actively engaged in discussions about the national team's preparations for the World Cup, keeping the atmosphere lively.

Lee’s agency also shared a photo on their official social media account showing the entertainer looking at the stage before the live broadcast began. The image captured him preparing for the show with a serious and focused demeanor despite the pressure.

Previously, Lee sparked health concerns among some viewers after appearing in a video released on his YouTube channel, 'God Kyung-kyu', on the 7th, where he exhibited slurred speech and slower-than-usual reactions. As the controversy grew, his agency clarified, "The health rumors are completely untrue," adding, "He was simply in poor condition at the time of filming due to a lack of sleep."

In fact, Lee has previously opened up about suffering from chronic insomnia and sleep issues on various programs.

On the SBS show 'Lee Kyung-kyu's Amazing Habits', he confessed, "The root of my illness is the broadcasting station," explaining, "I can't sleep when a recording doesn't go well or when I'm worried about viewership ratings." He also revealed that he was diagnosed with sleep apnea through a polysomnography test, attributing his sleep health issues to the irregular lifestyle and stress associated with his long career in television.

Meanwhile, following the live broadcast, Lee is scheduled to depart for North America to continue his World Cup cheering activities, which will be featured in a future variety program.
