"Nothing Is Impossible for Park Eunbin": The 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' Dream Team Returns for 'The WONDERfools'

Director Yoo In-sik and actors Park Eunbin, Choi Dae-hoon, and Lim Sung-jae have shared their thoughts on reuniting for the new series 'The WONDERfools'.

The four attended the press conference for the Netflix series 'The WONDERfools' (written by Heo Da-joong, directed by Yoo In-sik), held on the morning of the 12th at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul, where they discussed their feelings about working together again following 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'.

Director Yoo In-sik first spoke about Park Eunbin, saying, "I watched her with constant admiration while working on 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'. I thought, 'Is there anything this actor can't do?'" He added, "I had a feeling she could pull this off, too. I offered her the role because I knew she had a great sense of comedy, and that she is a bold and courageous actor. I’m grateful she accepted the offer so readily," explaining the background behind casting Park Eunbin as the lead character, Eun Chae-ni.

'The WONDERfools' is a superhero comedy adventure about three neighborhood misfits—'Chae-ni' (Park Eunbin), 'Gyeong-hun' (Choi Dae-hoon), and 'Robin' (Lim Sung-jae)—who accidentally gain superpowers at the end of the century in 1999, and a city official named 'Woon-jung' (CHA EUN-WOO), as they struggle to save the world from villains threatening their peace.

Park Eunbin also welcomed the reunion with Director Yoo, saying, "I didn't expect us to team up again so soon." Having heard about 'The WONDERfools' from the director during the filming of 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', she shared, "I was interested because I could feel the immense potential of this project."

Park Eunbin continued, "I wanted to work with Director Yoo In-sik again to create something fun that could bring laughter to viewers, so I was happy to choose 'The WONDERfools'." She praised the director, adding, "I think it was a great choice. He is an incredible director."

Regarding Lim Sung-jae, Director Yoo revealed, "I was surprised when I saw him in another film, so I cast him in 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'. Even though his role in 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' was just wearing a beard and smiling while trimming vegetables at the counter, I thought he was an amazing actor who knew how to control his presence. I wanted to work with him again, and as expected, I was very satisfied."

In response, Lim Sung-jae said, "It was a joy and an honor to work once again with the 'trust-and-watch' actor Park Eunbin and the director I trust and follow, Yoo In-sik." He hinted, especially regarding Park Eunbin, "I think you might see the cutest version of Park Eunbin you've ever seen."

Choi Dae-hoon also appeared in 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', but Director Yoo accidentally forgot to mention him during the event. This led Choi Dae-hoon to playfully express his disappointment, bringing laughter to the room. Nevertheless, he expressed his deep respect for the director.

Choi Dae-hoon said, "While filming 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', I felt that the director and I were on the same wavelength. I didn't expect to meet him again so soon, but I came running as soon as he called," showing his trust in the director.

Meanwhile, 'The WONDERfools' is scheduled to be released on Netflix on Friday, the 15th, at 5:00 PM.
