
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has expressed her special affection for the members of BTS, who were officially invited to the National Palace on the 6th (local time), by sharing a series of social media posts about them.
On the 6th (local time), President Sheinbaum posted a selfie with the BTS members on her social media, writing, "BTS greeted their ARMY and the approximately 50,000 people gathered at the Zócalo with a humble yet beautiful demeanor. I am very happy to be able to gift them such a moment of joy. BTS is delivering a positive message that promotes a culture of peace and inclusion through their music."
In another post, she added, "During their visit to the National Palace, the BTS members mentioned that Mexico has a special energy, and that is why they said they would return next year."

Furthermore, a video released by the Presidential Office captured the BTS members touring the interior of the Mexican National Palace in detail. President Sheinbaum shook hands with each member, greeting them in English by saying, "Nice to meet you." While introducing the palace, she remarked, "The president has always been a man, but I am the first female president," to which RM immediately replied, "Congratulations."
During the subsequent meeting, RM spoke on behalf of the group, saying, "We love Mexico, and everyone loves Mexico," which drew applause from the local officials present. President Sheinbaum suggested to the members, "Would you like to go outside and meet the fans?" and BTS stepped out onto the balcony of the National Palace to greet them in person.
As the members appeared, the fans filling the Zócalo cheered with tears in their eyes, and the scene was covered in a massive roar of cheers. In particular, V drew attention for his considerate gesture of making space for President Sheinbaum to stand in the center on the balcony.
Afterward, President Sheinbaum was seen taking the BTS members for a walk and introducing them to the fact that "16 cats live in the National Palace" in a lighthearted atmosphere. Finally, BTS said their goodbyes while shaking hands with President Sheinbaum, and JIMIN gave her a warm hug to express his gratitude.
Meanwhile, following their performance on the 7th, BTS will hold a total of three concerts at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City on May 9 – 10.
