SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Sold Out on You' is officially on a roll.
In the third episode, which aired on the 29th, Matthew Lee (played by Ahn Hyo-seop) realized that the mysterious caller who had been keeping him awake at night was none other than Dam Ye-jin (played by Chae Won-bin). As Dam Ye-jin discovered his true identity, she began to pursue him relentlessly, marking a new turning point in their relationship. Following its debut week, where it topped the Netflix non-English TV show chart, the third episode recorded a peak per-minute rating of 4%, proving the high level of viewer interest (based on Nielsen Korea).
Matthew Lee, who had been losing sleep due to the misdialed calls, initially dismissed them as a simple mishap and went about his daily routine. He gave a ride on his tractor to Songhak-daek (played by Ko Du-shim), who was heading to the market, and Dam Ye-jin, who was on her way to Seoul. Meanwhile, he personally rejected offers from Kang Mu-won (played by Yoon Byung-hee) to restart their research work and from L'Etoile executive director Seo Eric (played by Kim Bum) to renew their raw material supply contract.
By chance, Dam Ye-jin discovered that the prickly farmer Matthew Lee was actually Lee Hae-seok, the CEO of 'Gozneok Bio,' the bio-material company she had been desperate to sign a contract with. Determined to make up for her mistake and secure the deal, Dam Ye-jin followed him to his farm and persisted with her attempts to persuade him.
During this process, Dam Ye-jin suffered an arm injury, but she displayed professional dedication by flawlessly completing a live home shopping broadcast despite the pain. Matthew Lee, who happened to watch the broadcast, saw her in a new light, which served as a catalyst for changing his perception of her.
At the same time, after finishing the live broadcast, Dam Ye-jin was struggling due to the pressure from her senior colleague Ji Yoon-ji (played by Park Ah-in) and conflict with her father, Dam Seok-kyung (played by Kim Young-jae). To make matters worse, her insomnia worsened, and she eventually ended up calling the phone number of her mother, whom she could never forget.
When the phone rang again, Matthew Lee, intending to hang up, was startled to hear the familiar name "Mom, it's Ye-jin" and a sharp, jarring sound on the other end. Although he tried to ignore it, thinking it was just a drunken mistake, Dam Ye-jin’s sad voice saying, "Mom, I miss you," lingered in his ears. Ultimately, moved by her words, Matthew Lee headed to Seoul to find her.
At the end of the episode, a scene depicted Matthew Lee saving Dam Ye-jin from a traffic accident while she was wandering the streets barefoot due to sleepwalking, heightening viewers' curiosity about how the relationship between the two, which began with a single misdialed call, will unfold.
The fourth episode of 'Sold Out on You' will air on the 30th at 9:00 PM.
