'My Royal Nemesis' has raised anticipation for its premiere by unveiling a main poster that highlights the picturesque visual chemistry between a Joseon villainess played by Lim Ji-yeon and a notorious conglomerate heir played by Heo Nam-jun.
Premiering on Friday, May 8, at 9:50 PM, the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'My Royal Nemesis' (written by Kang Hyun-ju, directed by Han Tae-seop) is a romantic comedy depicting the war-like relationship between Shin Seo-ri (played by Lim Ji-yeon), an unknown actress possessed by the soul of a legendary Joseon-era villainess, and Cha Se-gye (played by Heo Nam-jun), a conglomerate heir known as a "monster created by capitalism." Lim Ji-yeon takes on the role of the unknown actress Shin Seo-ri, who is inhabited by the soul of the Joseon villainess "Kang Dan-sim," while Heo Nam-jun plays the conglomerate heir "Cha Se-gye," who is surrounded by infamy, signaling an intense "hate-to-love" romance.
The main poster, released on the 29th, captures the attention of viewers by showing the two standing side-by-side against a backdrop of ornate floral and butterfly embroidery. Lim Ji-yeon, dressed in traditional royal attire, and Heo Nam-jun, in a modern suit, boast a visual chemistry that transcends the gap between eras, creating a sense of excitement.
In particular, the image of Lim Ji-yeon casting a lovely side-glance while momentarily hiding her malice, and Heo Nam-jun gazing at her with deep eyes, stimulates curiosity about how their relationship will evolve. Furthermore, the tagline, "What a wonderful world to live in!" adds intrigue, hinting at the new destiny that will unfold for the Joseon villainess who has crash-landed in 21st-century South Korea and the malicious conglomerate heir.
With director Han Tae-seop of 'Hot Stove League' and 'Cheer Up' teaming up with rookie writer Kang Hyun-ju, all eyes are on what kind of new romantic world 'My Royal Nemesis' will present alongside the thrilling synergy between Lim Ji-yeon and Heo Nam-jun.
'My Royal Nemesis' will air its first episode on Friday, May 8, at 9:50 PM, following the currently airing 'Phantom Lawyer'.
