Ahn Bo-hyun & Lee Sung-min's Historical Drama 'God's Beads' Invited to the Cannes International Series Festival

Actors Ahn Bo-hyun and Lee Sung-min’s period series ‘God's Beads’ has been officially invited to the Cannes International Series Festival.

According to producer SLL on the 1st, ‘God's Beads’ will screen as a world premiere in the Non-Competitive Rendez-Vous section at the 9th Cannes International Series Festival. Ahn Bo-hyun and Suhyun will attend the event in person to greet fans on the pink carpet and during a Q&A session.

Set in 1258 CE, as Korea faces crushing odds after 30 years of war with the Mongols, the story follows a convoy that charges onto the battlefield to recover a sacred relic, the Gwaneum Bead, and the princess who risks everything to save them. The cast includes Ahn Bo-hyun, Lee Sung-min, Suhyun, Ha Yoon-kyung, and Yoon Kyun-sang.

Director Jung Dae-yoon of ‘Reborn Rich’―a 2023 International Emmy Awards finalist in the TV Movie/Mini-Series category―teams up with writer Jung Hyun-min of ‘Nokdu Flower.’

An SLL representative said, “‘God's Beads’ blends distinctly Korean historical themes with universal appeal. With this Cannes Series invitation, we look forward to reaching more global viewers and showcasing the growth potential of K-content once again.”

The Cannes International Series Festival showcases drama series and content from around the world and will be held in Cannes, France, from April 23 to 28.
