Ji Sung, Die-Hard Doosan Bears Fan, Returns to Jamsil Mound After 9 Years; First Pitch at 2026 Home Opener on May 3

Actor Ji Sung, a well-known Doosan Bears superfan, is returning to the mound for the first time in nine years.

Ji Sung will throw the ceremonial first pitch on Friday, the 3rd, at Seoul’s Jamsil Baseball Stadium for the Doosan Bears vs. Hanwha Eagles game. The matchup marks Doosan’s 2026 Jamsil home opener, and his appearance as a longtime die-hard fan adds extra meaning.

He also threw the opening pitch for Doosan’s season opener in 2017. After delivering a heater back then, he said, “Baseball is a dream to me. And like all of you, baseball is love,” sharing a heartfelt message that fired up the crowd. Anticipation is high for his return to the mound.

Meanwhile, after wrapping MBC’s "The Judge Returns" in February, Ji Sung confirmed his next project: JTBC’s new drama "Apartment." The series follows Haegang, a former gangster who runs for residents’ association chair to seize slush funds hidden inside an apartment complex, then teams up with residents to root out corruption. Ji Sung will play the lead role, Haegang.
