BTS is turning heads with a music video teaser that pays homage to a Korean cinema classic.

At midnight on the 1st, the group dropped the teaser for "2.0", a track off their fifth studio album "ARIRANG", via the HYBE LABELS official YouTube channel. The label said the video is an homage to director Park Chan-wook’s film "Oldboy".

The teaser opens on a worn-down hallway and an elevator. In the tight space, tough, intimidating figures line up. As the tension peaks, the elevator doors slide open and BTS step out. Dressed in sharp suits, they cut a striking contrast with the people around them.

Newspapers held by some members read headlines like “Brand-New 2.0 Launch,” “Full Strategy Overhaul,” and “2.0’s Hidden Secret Code,” amplifying the track’s message. The clip ends with RM lowering his newspaper to reveal his face behind sunglasses.

The staging instantly recalls a famous sequence from "Oldboy". In the film, protagonist Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik) faces off against a crowd in a narrow corridor ― a closed set, head-on standoff, and taut framing that leave a lasting mark. BTS’ teaser mirrors that setup through the hallway setting, the face-offs, and the stark mood contrast.

"2.0" captures BTS in a new phase after change and growth. It uses cinematic language to show the leap beyond their previous image. Sonically, "2.0" sits on hip-hop and trap with unpredictable rhythms, and the line “You know how we do” projects confidence and ease.

BTS members have previously expressed admiration for Park Chan-wook. RM has said he enjoys the director’s work and has shared that he watched "Decision to Leave" multiple times. V has also been noted for directly interacting with Park, drawing attention.

Meanwhile, BTS are dominating global charts with their fifth studio album "ARIRANG". Alongside the title track "SWIM", the group topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard 200, with multiple B-sides also entering the charts, reaffirming their impact.
