Chef Kwon Sung-jun of “Napoli Matpia” is taking on a gourmet dining challenge―just for cats.
The March 8 episode of SBS’s "Animal Farm" spotlights a cat named Norae, whose love for food is next level.
Meet the Gukhwa family, a big household with four pets. When the "Animal Farm" team visited, they set out snacks in fancy dishes with lids you’d expect at a bakery cafe. The lids are a must to protect the treats―from Norae, who appears out of nowhere the second food is around. She’s calm while roaming the house, but once she catches a whiff, she snatches the food and dashes off. It happens when you glance away, during mealtimes, even mid-interview―Norae’s food heists never stop.
Norae’s appetite is already famous on social media. A clip of her clutching a potato bun on the dining table earned her the nickname “Nyang Valjean” and racked up a massive 6 million views. The worry now? It’s looking more like a growing obsession. Even when Gukhwa and her two sons try to stop her, Norae stands guard on the table, eyeing every chance to strike. Why has her food drive gotten so intense?
Enter Chef Kwon Sung-jun, winner of "Culinary Class Wars" Season 1. A cat dad to four himself, he didn’t hesitate to meet Norae after hearing her story. This episode will feature a special omakase crafted by Chef Kwon―designed just for cats.
