'The King's Warden' Rules Box Office for 15 Straight Days, Aiming for 7 Million This Weekend

The film ‘The King's Warden’ has led the daily box office for 15 consecutive days.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office tracking system on the 27th, the film drew 204,929 moviegoers nationwide on the 26th, bringing its cumulative total to 6,733,443.

Now in its fourth week, it’s still pulling more than 200,000 weekday admissions, showing strong staying power. It’s on track to surpass 7 million this weekend.

With a 69% reservation rate and over 330,000 pre-sold tickets, audience demand is overwhelming. If it clears 7 million this weekend, a 10 million countdown could start next week.

Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, ‘The King's Warden’ follows the deposed young former king Danjong in exile and the villagers of Gwangcheonggol who receive him. The film stars Yoo Hae-jin and Park Ji-hoon and is directed by Jang Hang-jun.
