Geum Sae-rok Takes on Theater with 'The French Safe' ― "I Wanted to Try Without Fear"

Actor Geum Sae-rok is making her stage debut in a play.

Geum Sae-rok will star in the play “The French Safe,” opening March 7. Set on the premise that “when all the power goes out at midnight, the vault can be opened,” the story follows a group of people with different motives who gather in a secret room beneath a bank. Geum plays “Bank Teller,” the character who knows the bank better than anyone, hinting at a fresh transformation. With a live audience in front of her, she’s expected to deliver denser emotions and dynamic performance energy.

At the production presentation held on February 10 at NOL Seogyeong Square in Daehangno, Seoul, she said, “It’s my first time attempting theater, but I actually wanted to try it without fear,” adding, “Since audiences spend their precious time and money to come, I’ll practice hard so it feels worth it.”

“The French Safe” runs from March 7 to May 31 at Scon 1 Hall, NOL Seogyeong Square in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
