SHINee TAEMIN Ends Contract with Big Planet Made; Reports Point to Rift with Chairman Cha Ga-won

SHINee’s TAEMIN has terminated his exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment after two years.

On the 24th, Big Planet Made Entertainment announced via press release: “We inform you that our exclusive contract with artist TAEMIN has ended.” The company added, “Please continue to support the artist’s activities even after the contract’s conclusion.”

TAEMIN left SM Entertainment, where he had been since debut for 16 years, and signed an exclusive deal with Big Planet Made Entertainment in April 2024.

The specific reason for the contract’s termination has not been disclosed.

However, The Fact, which has raised various allegations involving Chairman Cha Ga-won of Big Planet Made Entertainment, reported that TAEMIN strongly pushed for termination despite time remaining on his contract. According to the outlet, the backdrop included issues with unsettled payments and major negligence such as signing contracts with external companies without TAEMIN’s consent.
