Actors Ra Mi-ran and Joo Jong-hyuk are set to become an all-time ambition duo.
On the February 24 broadcast of SBS variety show "Whenever Possible", the two will team up with MCs Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok to spread “happy dopamine” around Paju.
During filming, Yoo Jae-suk lit up at their arrival, joking, “Yang Se-chan,” a nod to Joo Jong-hyuk’s well-known resemblance to Yang Se-chan. Joo admitted with a laugh, “I even went on 'Running Man' to deny it, but meeting him in person… we really do look alike,” cracking everyone up.
The pair also surprised the set with their unexpected bond. They didn’t meet through acting, but through variety shows. “We actually lived in the same house,” Joo said enthusiastically. Ra Mi-ran upped the ante, quipping, “We cohabited for about ten days,” leaving Yoo Jae-suk in a sweat from the playful banter.
Ra Mi-ran then showed off her “Paju Madam Cheetah” side. A Paju resident for over a decade, she praised the city for being close to the Sangam studio. But she added, “The beauty salon is too far, so I just head straight to the studio barefaced,” revealing her no-makeup commute routine and drawing laughs. “But I did stop by the salon today―it’s "Whenever Possible",” she said, showing her enthusiasm and sending Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok into stitches.
Ra Mi-ran and Joo Jong-hyuk also turned up the heat with next-level determination to win the games. Even before the first round, Joo shrugged off his jacket, declaring, “I think I’m going to succeed,” and kept aiming for big plays, saying, “I can probably do one shot, three hits,” earning big laughs. When Ra Mi-ran threw herself into the challenge―literally―Yoo Jae-suk gave a thumbs-up: “Madam Cheetah is bold!”
Will this “ambition duo” deliver the fearless results they’re aiming for? "Whenever Possible" airs Tuesday, the 24th, at 9 p.m.
