Hit web novels with massive fandoms at home and abroad ― "Iseop’s Romance" and "A Nonchalant Lie" (literal titles) ― are getting live-action adaptations starring Lee Jong-suk and Lee Jun-hyuk, set in the same shared universe.
Both titles are bestselling full-length novels by author Kim Eon-hee that first launched as web novels, later released in print, and earned global buzz for their storytelling. The two originals unfold in the same world with different leads, and the adaptations will carry that connection across the series.
"Iseop’s Romance" is a chaotic office rom-com between Tae Iseop, a third-generation chaebol who’s perfect at everything except dating, and Kang Minkyung, TK Group’s so-called “secret weapon,” who has to get things done no matter what. "A Nonchalant Lie" follows Tae Junseop, the immaculate grandson of TK Group chairman Tae Sihwan, and copywriter Yeon Woo-kyung, whose appearance pulls him into a TK Group heir showdown ― and sparks a romance.
Lee Jong-suk will headline "Iseop’s Romance". Lee Jun-hyuk will lead "A Nonchalant Lie". The stories are tied together through TK Group and the cousins Tae Iseop and Tae Junseop, so fans can expect that crossover energy to show up in both series. With two trusted, genre-versatile stars, anticipation is high for an office romance vibe in one series and a heir-apparent rivalry-meets-bromance in the other.
Production will be a joint effort between Bon Factory (known for multiple romance hits like "Lovely Runner" and "What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim"), Ace Factory (the team behind the "Stranger" series), and A-MAN Media. Because the worlds connect, the plan is to produce the series simultaneously and begin within the year.
