The SBS Friday-Saturday drama "No Tail to Tell" (written by Park Chan-young and Jo Ah-young, directed by Kim Jung-kwon) has reached its halfway point with Episode 6. The intertwined fates surrounding Eun-ho (Kim Hye-yoon) and Kang Si-yeol (Lomon) continue to grow more compelling with each episode, drawing viewers in through unpredictable twists and turns.
Attention has been especially focused on the evolving relationship between Eun-ho and Kang Si-yeol. Eun-ho, who once vowed never to love humans or become one herself, turns human as the price of a good deed. Kang Si-yeol, who had lived the life of a world-class soccer star, pays the price of a wish by having his fate swapped with that of his friend Hyun Woo-seok (Jang Dong-joo). As the two gradually grow closer, their journey from a hostile relationship to mutual salvation delivers warm, fluttering emotions beyond lighthearted humor.
Here’s a look at how their relationship has evolved so far, raising anticipation for what lies ahead.
# From Their First Encounter to a Hostile Relationship: A Chance Meeting Between a Gumiho and a Human
Their first meeting was purely coincidental. Eun-ho first ran into Kang Si-yeol while shopping, and later was struck on the head by his soccer ball. With neither encounter leaving a good impression, Eun-ho went so far as to make a grim prediction—somewhere between a warning and a curse—that she saw no successful future for him, marking the start of their hostile relationship. At that same moment, Eun-ho’s VIP client Lee Yoon (Choi Seung-yoon) hit Kang Si-yeol’s friend Hyun Woo-seok (Jang Dong-joo) with a drunk-driving vehicle and fled the scene, further entangling their fates.
# Kim Hye-yoon Alters the Fates of Lomon and Jang Dong-joo: A Mysterious Power Dynamic
Contrary to Eun-ho’s prediction, Kang Si-yeol rose to become a world-class soccer player. When they reunited nine years later, he failed to recognize Eun-ho, while she entered “sales mode” to recruit him as a VIP client. Kang Si-yeol chose to make a wish on Hyun Woo-seok’s behalf, unaware of how terrifying the price of a wish could be. As a result, Hyun Woo-seok achieved his dream of success, while Kang Si-yeol’s fate was reversed with his. This bound Eun-ho and Kang Si-yeol together in a strange power relationship centered on the wish.
# Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon Become Partners in Escaping Their Downward Spiral
Eun-ho initially held the advantage, as reversing fate required a gumiho’s power. However, when shaman Jang Do-cheol (Kim Tae-woo) threatened Kang Si-yeol’s life, Eun-ho saved him—and paid the price for that good deed by becoming human. With her powers gone, Kang Si-yeol was also left unable to return to his original fate, making the two inseparably bound by destiny.
In search of another gumiho to replace Eun-ho, Kang Si-yeol encounters Palmiho (Lee Si-woo), an eight-tailed fox, ushering in a new phase. As Hyun Woo-seok, Jang Do-cheol, and Lee Yoon stand in their way, Eun-ho, Kang Si-yeol, and Palmiho join forces in their attempt to escape their ruined circumstances.
# Becoming Each Other’s Only Salvation as a Subtle Change Begins
Palmiho’s desire to become human presents a new dilemma. Eun-ho, seeing echoes of Geum-ho in Palmiho, hopes he will not become human, while Kang Si-yeol, viewing Palmiho as his last hope, wishes for the opposite. Despite their differing positions, the two take Palmiho to an amusement park—something he has long wanted to experience in the human world.
Kang Si-yeol tells Eun-ho that the day will remain a lasting memory for him, expressing his gratitude to her for staying by his side as his only family and friend. His quiet words, “You worry about me. I’ll worry about you,” along with Eun-ho’s tears of relief when he returns safely from a fire scene, suggest that a gentle and meaningful change has begun between them.
