'Can This Love Be Translated?' Starring Kim Seon-ho & Go Youn-jung Tops Netflix's Global Non-English TV Chart

Netflix’s romantic comedy series “Can This Love Be Translated?” has climbed to No. 1 on the streamer’s Global Top 10 list for Non-English TV.

The series―about multilingual interpreter Joo Ho-jin (Kim Seon-ho) who finds himself translating for global superstar Cha Mu-hee (Go Youn-jung), with chaos and chemistry to spare―hit No. 1 in its second week (Jan. 19-25). It drew 9,000,000 views (as measured by total hours watched divided by runtime) and appeared in the Top 10 across 60 countries, signaling surging worldwide buzz.

After premiering on Jan. 16 and maintaining serious heat into week two, the production marked the milestone by dropping new behind-the-scenes stills on Jan. 28.

The new photos spotlight the cast’s intensity and the set’s warm, collaborative energy. From Kim and Go zeroing in before a take to the pair huddling with director Yoo Young-eun over playback, you can feel how much care goes into every frame. Go’s full immersion as “Dorami” also hints at a strikingly different shade from her on-screen persona Cha Mu-hee―and the work it takes to get there.

The show’s picturesque overseas locations and moody romance come through in the stills as well. A shot of Sota Fukushi and Go strolling atop a towering Italian fortress captures the duo’s unshakable focus amid a sea of cameras and crew. Elsewhere, Lee Yi-dam confers with director Yoo to fine-tune a reunion sequence with Kim in Canada, while a candid of Choi Woo-sung laughing with the director brings back the set’s easy camaraderie.

Also on this week’s Global Top 10 for Non-English TV: reality sensation "Single’s Inferno 5" at No. 2, the Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon-led series “No Tail to Tell” at No. 5, and the Park Shin-hye and Go Kyung-pyo drama “Undercover Miss Hong” at No. 6.
