TV personality Park Soo-hong returned to a children’s home he’s supported for a quarter-century, donating 30 million won in cash and goods.
On January 15, Park visited Aeshin Children’s Home in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi Province. He contributed 25 million won in cash and, to ring in the Lunar New Year, added 5 million won worth of galbitang from a brand he represents, encouraging staff to “cook up a warm bowl of tteokguk for the holiday.”
The donation stems from a holiday giving project he hosted ahead of Christmas. On December 23, Park teamed with baby-care label Angel&Bee and Kakao for an interactive charity special on Kakao Shopping Live.
He pooled his entire 10 million won appearance fee with Angel&Bee’s 5 million won pledge and 10 million won raised through Kakao’s Together Value campaign, directing the full amount to Aeshin Children’s Home.
“I was just one part of this,” Park said. “I’m grateful to Angel&Bee and Kakao for sharing the vision―and most of all to everyone who tuned in and gave. It’s proof our community is still warm and worth believing in.”

Park last visited Aeshin in June and returned about seven months later, joined by Angel&Bee CEO Kim Dong-eun and several friends. He spent the day doing hands-on activities with the kids and helped prep and serve meals on site.
Park’s connection to Aeshin dates back to 2001, when a TV program first brought him there. The relationship has continued for 25 years. In 2019, he helped fund asbestos removal across the facility ahead of winter. In 2021―despite his own financial strain amid a high-profile embezzlement case involving his older brother―Aeshin’s director revealed Park quietly donated 10 million won.
“I haven’t been the only one giving here,” Park added. “Watching these kids grow up healthy and step into society has given me even more joy and gratitude. And it’s heartening to see more people recognize that spirit and lend a hand.”
Angel&Bee, which joined the effort, said, “It meant a lot to move as one with the same purpose. We plan to continue with a variety of donations and volunteer initiatives.”
