Kick a GoalCheerleader Mok Na-kyung and HyunJin of idol band LATENCY are suiting up as the newest members of FC Wonder Woman on "Kick a Goal".

On the January 21 episode of SBS’s "Kick a Goal", FC Wonder Woman 2026 faces off against FC National Family in the second G League group-stage match. It’s a rebuilt Wonder Woman squad versus the defending GIFA Cup champs who’ve quickly become the team everyone wants to avoid.

Among this season’s eight teams, FC Wonder Woman 2026 entered as the lone club without a trophy and was voted “weakest team” in a media day poll. Meanwhile, National Family, the reigning champs, topped the list of “teams you don’t want to meet,” underscoring their dominance. All eyes are on whether Wonder Woman can knock off a powerhouse and shed that underdog label.

Aiming to end their title drought, Wonder Woman strengthened the roster with two headline additions: Lotte Giants cheerleading captain Mok Na-kyung and LATENCY’s HyunJin. HyunJin has been grinding for this shot since 2023, finally making the cut on her third try―a true "Kick a Goal" comeback story.

Seeing her jersey hanging in the locker room, HyunJin was overwhelmed: “I’ve been dreaming of this moment―it finally happened.” Captain Mok, despite a packed cheer schedule, has been all-in at team training and flashed a thundering left-footed strike on match day. Their joint debut is already fueling buzz around Wonder Woman’s new-look attack.

The push for a title shows up in the tactics, too. With new head coach Kim Byung-ji at the helm, star keeper Kisum morphs into “Ki-Byung-ji,” roaming past the halfway line to jumpstart an upgraded build-up. Speedster “Quick Sohee” Kim So-hee earns her first start since joining, promising to pull more than her weight. Sharper and more decisive, she goes toe-to-toe with ace Park Ha-yan without blinking. The chemistry between Kisum’s on-the-move goalkeeping and Kim So-hee’s relentless edge could be game-changing.

The stands were rocking as Mok’s fellow Lotte Giants cheerleaders and LATENCY members turned up to rally the team. Kim Seol-hee, who transferred to FC Gucheok Jangshin this season, also made a surprise appearance to cheer on her former club―sprinting over to embrace her old teammates the moment she spotted them. With that wave of support, fans are wondering if Wonder Woman can flip the script against National Family.

FC Wonder Woman 2026’s first match with newcomers Mok Na-kyung and HyunJin airs on "Kick a Goal" tonight, January 21, at 9 p.m. on SBS.
