Yuri is set to make a dramatic turn onstage in the psychological thriller play "The Wasp", taking on a two-hander.
"The Wasp" centers on former high school classmates Heather and Carla, who reunite 20 years later with a chilling proposition that spirals into a tense mind game. The play premiered at London’s Hampstead Theatre in 2015 to strong reviews, and this staging marks its Korean premiere.
Yuri will portray Carla, a hardened survivor navigating cycles of poverty, delivering a tightly coiled performance that teases out the character’s fractures and fuels the production’s breathless suspense.
Last year, Yuri left a striking impression in the psychological thriller film “Somebody,” playing Kim Min, a trauma-scarred specialist cleaner with memory loss. "The Wasp" also marks her return to the theater for the first time since 2020.
Known for moving seamlessly across film, TV, variety, and the stage, Yuri’s latest challenge has fans curious to see how she’ll reinvent herself once again.
"The Wasp" runs March 8 through April 26 at Sejong S Theater.
