Lee Je-hoon and the Rainbow Taxi crew notched another ruthless win on "Taxi Driver" Season 3.
In the Jan. 3 episode of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama "Taxi Driver 3", the vigilante cab service set its sights on a “crime consulting” syndicate ― and took it apart piece by piece.
Seven years earlier, Go Sung-hyuk ― a former special prosecutor turned fixer ― began recruiting for his shadowy startup. After crossing paths with suspects like Joo Seok-bong, he maneuvered them into non-indictments, then pitched them on joining his new enterprise as founding members.
The roster he handpicked? A notoriously corrupt cop, a programmer behind an illegal gambling empire, a con artist with 10 priors, and a contract killer with mercenary training. Go built himself a tailor-made crew of criminals.
Once Rainbow Taxi uncovered who they were up against, the team moved to cripple the operation, launching a hack while each member ran interference to buy time.
Their plan worked: the syndicate’s servers crashed, and its nationwide affiliates were neutralized. Enraged, Go snapped, “What do you even gain from this? Why go this far?”
Kim Do-gi’s answer cut through: he’s doing it for the people on the losing end ― the mom scouring resale apps to save a few bucks on baby supplies, the eight-year-old who smashed his piggy bank to buy gloves for his dad in the hospital, the man who can only breathe easy with five million won in his pocket. They’re his people ― and the reason he won’t quit.
Go sneered back, “Now I get it ― why people end up dead or disappear wherever you go. Too bad this time, it’s going to be you.” He slammed an alarm, and the Samheung-do thugs armed up and swarmed Do-gi.
Pushed to the edge, Do-gi remembered a failsafe Park had installed in the Deluxe Taxi ― and deployed it. A high-voltage discharge swept the attackers, giving him just enough cover to escape with his life.
As Go tried to slip off Samheung-do, Do-gi spotted him ― and took him down without a second thought.
With Rainbow Taxi’s help, Reporter Bong also made it off the island and published a searing expose, writing that when supposed guardians of the law twist it for their own gain, they turn the world into a lawless no-man’s-land ― a direct indictment of Go’s criminal machine.
With the “crime consultants” dismantled, one question looms for "Taxi Driver 3": Who’s the season’s final big bad?
