Four Rising Stars Share Best New Actor at 2025 SBS Drama Awards

Drama Awards Best New ActorThe 2025 SBS Drama Awards handed out its Best New Actor honors to four breakout talents: Kim Dan, Kim Moo-joon, Cha Woo-min, and Ha Yoo-jun.

Broadcast live from SBS Prism Tower in Mapo, Seoul, on Dec. 31 at 8:50 p.m. KST, the ceremony spotlighted rising performers who made a splash on the network’s dramas this year.

Kim Dan, who suited up as a rugby player in the series Try, thanked the veteran actors and teammates who shaped his experience. “I was already happy just getting to film with seniors I admire and a cast I love―winning on top of that makes me even happier,” he said, adding that he’ll keep working hard while “staying happily grounded” on set.

Kim Moo-joon, celebrated for his turn in a buzzy rom-com, gave a heartfelt nod to viewers and fans. “Thank you for this meaningful award,” he said, adding that playing Sun-woo was a gift and that support from his fellow actors and staff made the past six months “genuinely joyful.”

Cha Woo-min, recognized for Buried Hearts, praised the production team and senior actors who guided him. He also sent love home: “We’ve watched this together on TV every year since I was young. I’m sorry we couldn’t watch together this time―but I brought home an award.”

Ha Yoo-jun, who played Sa-gye in a recent drama, admitted he was nervous addressing a room full of industry veterans, then thanked his family, agency, and the show’s team for their support. He wrapped with a hopeful promise: “I’ll make 2026 an even better year. Happy New Year!”
