Ahn Sung-ki in Critical Condition After Cardiac Arrest at Home

Veteran actor Ahn Sung-ki is in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest and being rushed to a hospital.

According to Yonhap News on the 31st, Ahn collapsed at home around 4 p.m. the previous day after choking on food. He received CPR and was transported to a nearby emergency room, then admitted to the intensive care unit, where he remains in serious condition.

A beloved “national actor,” Ahn has appeared in roughly 200 titles over a career that began in 1957. He was diagnosed with a blood cancer in 2019 and declared in remission in 2020, but the disease reportedly returned six months later, leading to ongoing treatment.
