Yang Se-chan Nabs Variety Producer Award at SBS Ent. Awards: "I Once Wanted to Be the Striker, but I Found My Role"

Yang Se-chan opened up about finding his lane in variety.

At the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards, broadcast live from SBS Prism Tower in Sangam, Mapo-gu on Dec. 30 at 8:50 p.m., Yang took home the Producer Award in the Variety category.

“Ji Seok-jin said if you snag the Producer Award, you’re on the doorstep of the grand prize―and he was over the moon when I won. 'Running Man' is in full celebration mode right now,” Yang began with a laugh.

“It’s been 20 years since my debut. 'Running Man' will hit its 16th year next year, and though I joined later, I’ll mark 10 years with the show,” he reflected.

“There were times I wanted to be the striker up front,” he admitted. “But the longer you do variety, the clearer everyone’s roles become. One I’ve grown into is filling in when the hyungs are tired and pushing from behind. I figured if I do that well, the show gets better―and working that way brought me here.”

Yang closed by thanking the "Running Man" production team and his castmates, sharing the win with them.
