Actors Kim Hae-sook, Oh Na-ra, and Yoon Kyun-sang are set to share the screen in the film "Jeomrye, My Light" (literal title).
"Jeomrye, My Light" centers on Jeomrye (Kim Hae-sook), the resident social butterfly at a senior home who hits the top lottery jackpot late in life―and suddenly finds herself in a playful tug-of-war with her family over her newfound fortune.
Veteran star Kim Hae-sook leads as Jeomrye, three years into retirement-home life, whose quiet twilight years are jolted by a miracle win and a long-overdue reinvention. "I tore through the script and couldn't wait to start filming," Kim said. "I'm thrilled to be part of a story everyone can laugh along with."
Oh Na-ra and Yoon Kyun-sang co-star as Jeomrye's family, a Tom-and-Jerry-style sibling duo who start testing Mom once she becomes a first-prize lottery winner―promising plenty of unexpected laughs.
"Oh Na-ra, who plays Chansuk, said, "It was such a page-turner that I finished it in one sitting because I had to know how it ended. I'll do my best to capture the story's feel-good energy. I hope the film brings a little luck to everyone who watches."
Yoon Kyun-sang plays Chansuk's younger brother, Chanho. "It's an honor to act alongside Kim Hae-sook and Oh Na-ra," Yoon said. "I'll give it my all so we spark the best chemistry and keep the fun alive from start to finish."
"Jeomrye, My Light" began principal photography in late November.
