Actor Lee Byung-hun has been nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical) at the Hollywood Creative Alliance’s 2025 Astra Film Awards for his turn in "No Other Choice."
He’ll face a stacked field: Brendan Fraser ("Rental Family"), George Clooney ("Jay Kelly"), Jesse Plemons ("Bugonia"), Leonardo DiCaprio ("One Battle After Another") and Timothee Chalamet ("Marty Supreme"), setting up a fierce race.
Beyond Lee’s nod, "No Other Choice" picked up four nominations overall, including Best Picture, International Feature and Adapted Screenplay―further underscoring the film’s craft and global appeal.
Lee has been building serious awards-season momentum: he received a Special Tribute at the Toronto International Film Festival, was named an Artist of Distinction at the Newport Beach Film Festival, and landed a Best Actor nomination at the 35th Gotham Awards, elevating the profile of Korean talent across North America.
On Nov. 20, he also took home the Snow Leopard Award for Outstanding Cinematic Achievement at the 11th Asian World Film Festival, keeping his winning streak alive.
"No Other Choice" is South Korea’s official submission for International Feature at the 98th Academy Awards, and all eyes are on whether Lee Byung-hun can break into the Oscars’ final acting shortlist.
