Jang Ki-yong Teases Kiss-Filled New SBS Rom-Com 'Dynamic Kiss'

Jang Ki-yong has one big tease for SBS’s upcoming rom-com "Dynamic Kiss": expect a whole lot of kissing.

Premiering Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 9 p.m. KST on SBS, the new Wednesday-Thursday series (written by Ha Yoon-a and Tae Kyung-min; directed by Kim Jae-hyun and Kim Hyun-woo) follows a single woman who poses as a mom to land a job and the team leader who falls for her ― a mutual-pining office romance led by Jang as Gong Ji-hyeok and Ahn Eun-jin as Go Da-rim.

Jang plays Gong Ji-hyeok, a head-to-toe perfect type who’s knocked sideways by a kiss that hits like a force of nature. He may look cool on the surface, but he’s a softie when it comes to love ― and as a proven romance lead, Jang is poised to dial up Ji-hyeok’s charm and set off a small-screen craze.

“When I first meet a new project and character, I tend to agonize over it,” Jang says. “I read the script a lot, sit down with the director to go over it together, and ask tons of questions if anything’s unclear. We kept the conversation going on set for this one, too.”

He adds, “"Dynamic Kiss" has a fizzy, offbeat script, and I worked hard to capture that tone. Once I started playing Gong Ji-hyeok, he turned out to be even more colorful ― almost chameleon-like ― so I tried to stay laser-focused right up to the final day of filming.”

As for what to watch for? “Kisses,” Jang says with a laugh. “There are a lot of kiss scenes, so I hope couples and lovebirds tune in. Ji-hyeok and Da-rim’s first meeting ― and first kiss ― are pretty dynamic, so if you ride along with their emotions, you’ll have even more fun with the show.”
