YouTuber Mimiminu, known for his college admissions content, has addressed reports that a former participant from his channel filed a complaint accusing him of defamation and insult.

After the story surfaced on Oct. 21, Mimiminu posted in his official fan cafe, writing, “A former participant from my channel has filed a complaint against me,” adding that he is preparing a legal response. He noted the matter is under investigation and said he will share his position once the process concludes and an official result is issued, asking fans to be patient until then.

Mimiminu first rose to prominence as a student who gained admission to Korea University’s Department of Public Administration after five tries, later building a large following with admissions and study-related videos on YouTube.

According to an outlet that first reported the complaint, the accuser, identified as A, had previously stepped away from appearing on the channel due to a past incident. A claims Mimiminu pressured him to leave and, despite A’s request not to discuss the controversy, referenced it during a livestream.

A further alleges that during the livestream, Mimiminu read aloud a malicious viewer comment that labeled both A and A’s mother as “mentally ill,” which A says caused severe emotional distress, led to a diagnosis of bipolar disorder, and resulted in an attempted self-harm.

In the filing, A also contends the real culprit in the earlier incident was his younger brother and that he was wrongly blamed, but that Mimiminu’s remarks left him stigmatized as a thief.
