Singer-actor Lee Jun-young is bringing a string of viral stories to SBS’s "My Little Old Boy" this Sunday at 9 p.m., opening up about the moment an on-screen scene with IU had strangers across the country scolding him in real life.
Appearing as a special MC, the rising star ― known for toggling effortlessly between hero and villain roles ― was showered with praise by the show’s panel of celebrity moms for his turn in "When Life Gives You Tangerines", where he played Young-beom, IU’s first love. Lee recalled a buzzed-about “meet-the-parents” scene in which his character stayed seated while his girlfriend ladled out scorched-rice tea, admitting people actually confronted him over it off-screen. Even his dad had a few choice words ― and what he said will be revealed on the broadcast.
Lee also revisited his recent Blue Dragon Awards flub, when he misheard a name and walked onstage by mistake. He apologized to actor Lee Jun-hyuk and tried to laugh it off, but said he was so mortified he wanted to go straight home ― especially after host Shin Dong-yup’s razor-sharp one-liners turned the moment into comedy gold.
In a lighter confession, Lee shared that he’s dated so little he can count his relationships on one hand. MC Seo Jang-hoon teased that a lack of experience doesn’t mean a lack of skills, prompting Lee to reveal he relies on a subtle flirting move that makes the other person come to him first. Whatever that technique is, it had the studio gasping ― and viewers will find out on Sunday night.
Catch more of Lee Jun-young’s unexpected charm on "My Little Old Boy", airing Sunday at 9 p.m. KST on SBS.
