From 'Hi-FIVE' Doting Dad to 'Good Boy's' Chilling Villain: Oh Jung-se Dominates Both the Big Screen & TV

Actor Oh Jung-se is making waves across both cinemas and living rooms with his roles in 'Hi-FIVE' and 'Good Boy'.

The film 'Hi-FIVE', featuring Oh Jung-se, has surpassed 1.5 million viewers thanks to its delightful story and vibrant characters. Even in its fourth week, it continues to receive a warm reception. Oh Jung-se, who plays a father completely devoted to his daughter 'Wan-seo' (played by Lee Jae-in), has been praised for adding depth and enjoyment to the film.

Simultaneously, Oh Jung-se is garnering significant attention on the small screen with a role that's a complete 180 from his character in 'Hi-FIVE'. In the JTBC weekend drama 'Good Boy', he portrays 'Min Joo-young', a seemingly ordinary customs official who becomes a ruthless villain, unhesitatingly eliminating anyone who obstructs his malevolent deeds. His performance brings a gripping tension to every episode.

His expressionless face and cold tone only add to the eerie atmosphere, and as his character begins to unravel, revealing a frenzied madness, viewers are finding themselves completely engrossed.

The recent episode 6 has hit a new high with a national viewership rate of 6.2% (according to Nielsen Korea, based on paid households), marking two consecutive weeks of record-breaking ratings. Furthermore, it has been at the center of hot discussions, securing the top spot in the TV-OTT integrated drama category for the third consecutive week according to Good Data Corporation's FUNdex for the second week of June.

Oh Jung-se is receiving widespread acclaim for his polar opposite roles in these two works. His ability to seamlessly blend into such distinct characters has been lauded for enhancing the engagement level of both productions.

Oh Jung-se stars in the JTBC weekend drama 'Good Boy', airing every Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM, while the movie 'Hi-FIVE' is available in theaters nationwide.
