Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon has expressed her deep regret to fans after her Japan concert, part of her Asia tour, was canceled just two days before opening due to equipment issues.

On the 18th, Taeyeon reached out to fans through her official fan platform, saying, “When I heard the news about the Japan concert being canceled, I was so worried about SONE (the fandom name) and honestly didn’t know what to say. I hate everything about this situation and I’m truly sorry to SONE. My concert, which was created with so much effort and anticipation from everyone, disappeared in an instant―it feels like it was stolen from me. I feel so empty and lost, and I don’t even know how to put these emotions into words.”

Previously, her agency SM Entertainment announced on the 17th via their official Japanese website that Taeyeon’s solo 10th anniversary concert, “The TENSE,” scheduled for March 19-20 at Tokyo Ariake Arena, had been canceled. The agency explained, “The equipment used for the Asia tour is still being shipped to Japan and has not arrived yet. At this point, it’s impossible to prepare everything in time for the show.”

SM Entertainment added, “We explored every possible option in consultation with the relevant authorities, but ultimately determined that holding the concert would not be feasible. We sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the show. We are also considering the possibility of a replacement concert and will provide further updates as soon as decisions are made.”

Fans who had purchased tickets and were eagerly awaiting the Japan concert expressed their disappointment. The sudden cancellation was especially tough for international fans who had already made travel and accommodation arrangements.

Taeyeon kicked off her Asia tour in Seoul from March 7-9. She had originally planned to perform in Japan, followed by stops in Macau, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, and more.
