Hyun Young Returns to the Big Screen with 'Day by Day'

Actress Hyun Young is making her return to the big screen with the film 'Day by Day' (literal translation). 

'Day by Day' is set to premiere on April 17, following a VIP screening held on April 8 at CGV Yongsan.

The film tells the moving story of a family whose diligent patriarch is deceived by his closest friend, leading them into financial ruin. Despite the hardships, the family struggles to endure each day, holding onto hope and striving to rebuild their lives.

Actor and theater company director Park Yong-gi wrote the screenplay and directed the film. Park explained, "I wanted to show that there are victims of scams, and how one person's downfall can lead to a family's collapse." He added, "Viewers will be surprised by Hyun Young's performance and her unexpected portrayal in this film."

Hyun Young plays Han Yoo-ri, a devoted wife and mother of two, who steps up to protect her family after her husband Yoo Hyun-woo (played by Kim Ji-wan), who has been running a seafood business, suddenly falls apart.

Returning to the screen after a long hiatus, Hyun Young shared, "I have been continuously studying acting to bring authenticity to my role. After filming, I found myself deeply immersed in the character of Han Yoo-ri, more so than in any previous role."

She continued, "During filming, I often felt a heavy heart, recalling times when those around me faced difficulties. As a real-life mother of two, I could relate to the film's scenario of a family facing sudden financial collapse, which helped me connect emotionally with the role."

The film will be available in theaters starting April 17.
