Shin Won-ho Someday Wise Resident LifeAfter being delayed due to a prolonged medical strike by residents, the tvN drama 'Resident Playbook ' is finally set to meet its audience. Director Shin Won-ho, who participated as a creator, urged viewers to watch the drama for what it is, separate from social issues.

On the afternoon of the 10th, a production presentation for the new tvN weekend drama 'Resident Playbook' was held at the Ramada Sindorim Hotel in Guro-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by creator Shin Won-ho, director Lee Min-soo, and actors Go Yoon-jung, Shin Si-a, Kang Yoo-seok, Han Ye-ji, and Jung Joon-won.

'Resident Playbook' is a medical growth drama that follows residents dreaming of a wise life as doctors. It is a spin-off of Shin Won-ho's hit series 'Hospital Playlist.' Originally, 'Resident Playbook' was scheduled to air last May as a follow-up to 'Queen of Tears.' However, the prolonged strike by residents opposing the expansion of medical school quotas directly impacted the show. The drama's portrayal of residents' struggles contrasted sharply with reality, leading to its postponement despite having completed filming.

After drifting for about a year, 'Resident Playbook' is finally set to premiere on the 12th. However, concerns remain due to the lingering negative perception of residents who contributed to the medical service gap.

As the creator and self-proclaimed 'guardian' of the project, Director Shin Won-ho shared his candid thoughts, admitting, "Honestly, I was very anxious."

Director Shin explained, "The medical strike occurred midway through filming. We had no idea when it would end, and that uncertainty continues even now. Our main concern was that viewers should enjoy the content as it is. We worried that the beautiful stories of young people we prepared might be misinterpreted for other reasons. That's why we kept discussing and delaying the broadcast from its originally planned date last year."

He continued, "As I always say, our job is to create and present the work. Watching it is entirely up to the viewers. Whether they view it positively or critically, all perspectives are theirs, and we can only wait for their judgment."

Director Shin, who sees himself as the 'guardian' or 'father' of the project, expressed his earnest plea, "Please watch it a lot."

He added, "The director, writers, and actors are all just starting out. They worked so hard and made something truly beautiful and fun. It would be heartbreaking if it doesn't get watched much for reasons beyond our control. I don't usually make such requests for my own projects, but I sincerely hope you watch and love it."
